Our History
In 2016 Greg Johnson joined Pete Black Plumbing, reshaping the company’s trajectory. Transitioning from a modest beginning in Pete’s home, once the master plumber arrived at the company they expanded significantly, growing to a team of 12 skilled professionals and a fleet of 7 service vehicles. In 2017, Greg took full ownership, continuing to uphold the company’s reputation for excellence. Now situated at 2440 W Highland Road in Howell, the expanded facility serves as a testament to their growth and success.
In 2024, Greg took another major step by merging Pete Black with J Mills Plumbing, forming Titan Plumbing Group. This union combined decades of expertise, bringing together two respected names in the industry to create a powerhouse plumbing team. Two “Titans” if you will. With the addition of Jay Matznick, a Master Plumber and General Manager, along with merging a team of skilled technicians, Titan Plumbing Group strengthened its commitment to providing exceptional service and industry-leading solutions. Now, stronger than ever.
Titan Plumbing Group continues to specialize in residential and industrial plumbing services, ensuring that homeowners, businesses, and municipalities receive the highest quality plumbing solutions. In addition, the company has expanded its offerings to include a full-service VacTruck team specializing in hydro excavation, jetting, and basin cleaning—critical services that support municipalities and many large scale plumbing operations and rehabilitations.

About the Owner
Greg Johnson is a true testament to the power of dedication and hard work. Hailing from Lakeland High School, Greg Embarked on his plumbing journey at a young age, starting his plumbing apprenticeship while still in high school. His early days were spent digging trenches for a residential plumbing company in Detroit, where he made house calls and honed his skills in the field. Over time, Greg’s expertise evolved, leading him to specialize in industrial plumbing jobs and factory buildings. In 2008, fueled by his passion and ambition, Greg took the leap and founded his FIRST plumbing company. Upon obtaining his plumbing license, he tackled all aspects of plumbing and water flow, even venturing across the country to construct microbreweries. Along the way, Greg’s path intersected with Pete Black, who imparted invaluable knowledge and expertise in water treatment systems and water softeners. In 2016, Greg’s entrepreneurial spirit and leadership came to the forefront as he assumed management of Pete Black Plumbing, eventually transforming it from a small team operating out of a house to a thriving operation with 20 employees. Fast forward to today, now Pete Black and J.Mills have merged companies to form Titan Plumbing Group. Greg’s journey exemplifies the resilience and determination that define his success in the plumbing industry.
